Physicians Greenbook ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully. 2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and role selection (patient or provider). Providers may also submit professional credentials, specialty, bio, and office address.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide a profile photo, insurance information, language preferences, and other details to enhance your experience.
Appointment Data: We collect information about appointments you book or manage, including date, time, service type, and status.
Messages: We store messages exchanged between patients and providers through the App's messaging feature to facilitate ongoing care communication.
Reviews and Ratings: If you submit a review, we collect the content of your review and associated rating.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and push notification tokens to deliver notifications and improve the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Facilitate connections between patients and healthcare providers
- Process and manage appointment bookings
- Enable messaging between patients and providers
- Display provider profiles, reviews, and ratings
- Send appointment reminders and notifications
- Improve and personalize the App experience
- Respond to support inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
Between Users: Patient names and profile information are shared with providers when booking appointments. Provider profiles (name, specialty, credentials, ratings, reviews) are visible to patients searching the App.
Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, data storage, file storage, and push notifications. Your data is processed by these services in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Firebase Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage, which employ industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View your personal information through your profile in the App
- Update: Edit your profile information at any time through the App
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
- Notifications: Manage push notification preferences through your device settings
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. HIPAA Notice
Physicians Greenbook is a technology platform that facilitates connections between patients and providers. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA. However, healthcare providers who use the App may be subject to HIPAA and are responsible for their own compliance. We encourage all providers to use the App in a manner consistent with their HIPAA obligations.
10. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication — secure sign-in and account management
- Cloud Firestore — data storage
- Firebase Storage — file and image storage
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications
- Google Sign-In — optional social authentication
Each service has its own privacy policy governing data processing.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
